Smiling LED faces bicycle

September 17, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

smile-cycle joyrider

See this smiling LED faces fixed to the spokes for Joyrider bicycle. Some lights has snapped onto a bike by LED wizard Moritz Waldemeyer that illuminates the spokes with a smiling face, the universal sign for happiness. Only one LED on each wheel uses that’s set to strobe, how fast the wheel is spinning will tell the light with a microchip built into each and when to flash the lights. It really depends on how much you like to see others happy to know how much mileage you get out of, as unless you go head over the handlebars, you typically won’t be able to enjoy the Joyrider’s lights yourself.

The Joyrider is really only going to light up the world effectively at night, so maybe that snarling guy with a broken bottle raised in the air will stop chasing you. At the ICA 2008 Gala earlier this year, two Joyriders were shown off where they were sold for over $3,600.

Seat Brisa, the sports car world

seat brisa

This is a sports car, but The Seat Brisa is not the kind with a gas-guzzling roar that’ll burn rubber down the road. Its hood instead is covered with photo-voltaic cells that power an electric engine tied to the rear motor. Miguel Ángel Iranzo Sánchez, the designer from Spain remarked in his notes, “The Seat Brisa is propelled by the sun as sail boats are propelled by the wind.”

To its trim, it stays nice and light thanks, backless design and should have your hair whipping back in no time by its aerodynamic shape . “I wanted it to look very Mediterranean,” Sánchez notes, “very flamenco!”

BMW 2015 concept: futuristic design

August 18, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

What are cars in the year 2015 going to look like? Well, we are guessing that they are going to look like kind of our cars today, but maybe more a touch aerodynamic. But what do we know? Here then, when we asked the same question, the Turin-based IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) of Transportation Design students came up quite a bit different with something.

This BMW concept design came up with looks like it belongs not in 2015, but in 2115. The BMW ZX-6 Concept by Lukas Vanek and Jai Ho Yoo is full of crazy lines and curves, and it is more aerodynamic, and we are not sure how its practical. But maybe we won’t care about practical cars in 2015, instead based solely purchasing our vehicles on how crazy they look. Definitely, this one is a winner if this right.

Train concept: Capsule

August 04, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

train capsule

With only one car, here is a train with a room for only a dozen or so passengers. It seats folks in a side-facing capsules, series of individual, as well as a small room for four at either end of the train. Than your average train cabin, it offers far more privacy, which something most of us find ourselves wishing for, riding crowded subways in cities especially.

However, the ability to move a large quantity of space has sacrificed for some, a comfort. To keep people from fighting for seats, there also have to be a system in place, with a lot of these on the rails. To sit and relax, if you are going a short distance seems like a nice place.

This train concepted by designer from Melbourne, Australia, Hamit Kanuni Kuralkan. Just check out a video showing off all 360° of the train.

Aqua submersible watercraft

July 18, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

This is a sports car above and below the surface. Designers from Korea, Woonghee Han and Sungchul Yang think that we are going to be living in waterworld soon in some day, so that’s why they put together Aqua. For a versatile little one-person runabout, this design concept equally plunging deep beneath the waves or at home skimming along the water’s surface.

The two student designers of Seoul University must be doing something right, because the dolphin-shaped design was nifty enough to win a Silver Idea Design Award 2008. How the sub will be powered? it’s not mentioned, but how to make an electric-powered sub go super-fast, let’s hope we will have learned and something like this might be built by the time. yahoo4
