Do you remember with the floppy disk? I’m sure. With a drive built into every computer, this once-useful storage device could hold just over 1MB of data, which is basically nothing nowadays. That’s why you rare to see them anymore. But for the resilient little things, you’ve got to admit that you have a soft spot in your heart.

This awesome USB floppy disk makes the lovable little square relevant again. It can be plugged into your USB drive and can then store GBs worth of data rather than MBs, and it even has a built-in stand that flips out so it can stand up next to your computer. And it’s just as portable and durable as you remember it. How awesome is this?

Mini-keyboard Brando wireless RF

It seems perfect for home theater PCs. Most of us will have computers in our home theaters someday soon, and we will be needing a mini keyboard like this one. What’s so great about it? Two letters: RF. Its radio frequency control works up to 30 feet, letting you tuck away a home theater PC in the next room, and even through walls where its noise and heat will be outta sight and earshot. The result? Peace, quiet, and remote control.

With a USB receiver that you plug into that PC, The $48 keyboard communicates using the 2.4GHz frequency that’s gotten to be dependable and familiar. With a mini trackball, you can control your cursor but we’d rather use a Bluetooth or RF mouse. Perhaps the only complaint is that Function key, positioned exactly where the Control key should be. Other than that, it looks good and small enough to stay out of the way but big enough to actually use.

Dalvey stainless steel mouse

September 15, 2008 By: wowo Category: Computers No Comments →

Here’s one swanky mouse, the perfect polished pointer for corner office poseurs. Brought to market by Grands of Dalvey, this fancy stainless steel number takes you back to the old days of Apple iMac puckitude, but for engraving it’s suitable this one’s so fine. Resolving 800dpi with its optical sensor, it’s more than just a pretty face too, and packing underneath its translucent wheel with an eerie blue backlight.

For the clueless suit who “doesn’t feel a particular need to email,” this $89 bauble might be the perfect pointer, but wants to appear to be a computing hepcat. It must be a fingerprint magnet for that shiny surface. And for the circular shape, there is a good reason why Apple’s ergonomics-ignoring puck-shaped mouse now resides atop the ash heap of tech history.
