BMW 2015 concept: futuristic design

August 18, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

What are cars in the year 2015 going to look like? Well, we are guessing that they are going to look like kind of our cars today, but maybe more a touch aerodynamic. But what do we know? Here then, when we asked the same question, the Turin-based IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) of Transportation Design students came up quite a bit different with something.

bmw-concept-2015

This BMW concept design came up with looks like it belongs not in 2015, but in 2115. The BMW ZX-6 Concept by Lukas Vanek and Jai Ho Yoo is full of crazy lines and curves, and it is more aerodynamic, and we are not sure how its practical. But maybe we won’t care about practical cars in 2015, instead based solely purchasing our vehicles on how crazy they look. Definitely, this one is a winner if this right.

main styrofoam_dome

This is much cooler concept than it sounds like. What is the 21st century’s home? Contenders abound, you’ve got cool prefab designs, green houses and even around gadget fads of apartments themed, but as these Styrofoam domes, none are quite so modular. The igloo-shaped homes which made by Japan Dome House, are 25 feet wide and have 13-foot ceilings, so there are actually fairly roomy insides.

Train concept: Capsule

August 04, 2008 By: wowo Category: Automobile, Design and art No Comments →

train capsule

With only one car, here is a train with a room for only a dozen or so passengers. It seats folks in a side-facing capsules, series of individual, as well as a small room for four at either end of the train. Than your average train cabin, it offers far more privacy, which something most of us find ourselves wishing for, riding crowded subways in cities especially.

However, the ability to move a large quantity of space has sacrificed for some, a comfort. To keep people from fighting for seats, there also have to be a system in place, with a lot of these on the rails. To sit and relax, if you are going a short distance seems like a nice place.

This train concepted by designer from Melbourne, Australia, Hamit Kanuni Kuralkan. Just check out a video showing off all 360° of the train.

Tables series of Ripple

rippletablefront

Lee Rowland, an artist and engineer have just see things a bit differently from others. You know, he is created the Ripple Series, tables that appear to stop time in its rippling tracks using sophisticated 3D milling processes and a variety of materials such as clear polyester resin, polished aluminum and a dash of aerospace engineering,

Just look at the picture, it seemingly frozen in time that gleaming water droplet backwash. What a magnificent! Imagine if this teamed up with that crazy floating table, a table like this could make your guests think they are hallucinating. But the bad news is that these works of art might only be deployed in billionaire mansions or museums, because one costs just of $45,000. Too expensive for you..? yahoo4

Crazy floating table

July 25, 2008 By: wowo Category: Design and art, household 1 Comment →

table paint

It has magic paint drips for legs. On this table, no need to hang a Wet Paint sign because it’s just an illusion. John Nouanesing as designer must have thought up this design concept while having fever dreams about painting his house. What is next? It’s look like half-melted ice cream bars with Space-saving chairs.

You know, if we’d be standing in line for one, if John would somehow put this magically floating, messy design into production, just look like chocolate syrup.
