Lasik technology
Have you heard about Lasik before? If you never heard, then below article is a brief about LASIK information.
Today, there is a modern Lasik known as iLasik Procedure. The iLasik Procedure uses two lasers instead of one, as in earlier versions of the procedure. At the first step of this new procedure, iLasik uses wave-front technology to map the unique characteristics of the individual’s eyes. Then the computer-guided laser, an ultrafast, will create a corneal flap. This laser makes the procedure exceptionally safe because of they replaces the handheld microkeratome blade, which used in older forms of Lasik. Then the wave-front mapping data guides a second laser after the flap is created, this is for vision correction. These two lasers combined create a procedure that provide excellent visual results and clinically proven to be safe.
Nowadays, US military and NASA have increase the mission critical performance of each personnel by using technologies of laser vision correction that for more than five years have been benefited civilians. To improve the vision of specialized personnel facing extreme, NASA and DOD (The Department of Defense) have been tapped all laser form of Lasik, physically demanding conditions. Regarding the use of Lasik, Steven Schallhorn, M.D. had said, “The DOD and NASA have validated the fact that today’s Lasik exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness”. Steven Schallhorn, M.D. is a retired U.S. Navy captain and the DOD leader of clinical research and studies.
Must be underlined that some notable result showed that 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. Therefore, 100% of naval aviators would recommend iLasik to their fellow aviators. So if you are in need of visual correction, it is better to join and get the LASIK technology.
