Pros:
Backgrounds- You Can Not Get Backgrounds On An iPod Touch But Can Get It If It Is Jailbroken With The App Called Winter Board
Free Apps- Usually Paid For Apps Are Now Free (Well Most Of Them)
Customizable- Fun And Neat Things Can Be Done Like Putting Custom Text On Your Unlock Slider
Much More…
Cons:
Bricked: You Don’t Have A Very Good Chance Of This But Your iPod May Become Bricked (Doesnt Work Anymore) unless You Know What To Do But Even Then Doesnt Always Work!
Bad Battery Life- Its Battery Life Drains Fast!

you should use quickqwn or any other jailbreak site that you trust, go to youtube.com for the instructions of how to jailbreak it.
the only bad side i should tell is that your apple warranty is void or canceld, that means you can’t go there and fix your ipod if you broke something or need assistance.
if its me ( and i would do this since i have a 2g) wait a year until apple warranty run out (ends in a year) and then jailbreak it but its your choice.
if apple people catches you, you could get sued!
